ICU同窓会では、それぞれの分野で活躍され、大学および同窓会の魅力度・知名度を高めることに貢献した方々を、毎年「DAY （Distinguished Alumni of the Year）」として表彰しています。18年目となりますDAY賞2023の受賞者は以下の皆様です。表彰式は、2023年3月26日（日）開催の同窓会「桜祭り」にて行われる予定です。

受賞理由
青木 理恵子 AOKI, Rieko（22 ID78 / G1981）
ソーシャルワーカー。特定非営利活動法人CHARM（Center for Health and Rights of Migrants）事務局長。ICU卒業後、日本YWCAにて活動。その後フィリビンの大学でソーシャルワークの実践を学ぶ。帰国後一貫して在日外国人支援の活動に従事。多言語電話相談コーディネーター、就労支援のための京都バザールカフェの立ち上げなどに携わり、2002年からCHARM事務局長として在日外国人の健康や人権を守るプログラムを次々と実行に移す。「システム化できない小さな規模の支援」を知恵と対話、自ら動くことで日々積み重ねている。2022年9月に「在日外国人と医療 ～ 誰一人取り残さないために ～」というテーマで開催された日本キリスト者医科連盟第73回総会では女性初の総会会長を務めた。
Ms. Rieko Aoki : Social worker. Specified non-profit organization CHARM (Center for Health and Rights of Migrants) Secretary General. After graduating from ICU, she worked at the Japan YWCA. Then she studied social work practice at a university in the Philippines.
After returning to Japan, she consistently engaged in activities to support foreign residents in Japan. She has been involved in launching multilingual telephone consultation coordinator and the establishment of the Kyoto Bazaar Café for employment support, since 2002 as the secretary general of CHARM, she has implemented programs to protect the health and human rights of foreign residents in Japan.
Through her wisdom, dialogue, and moving by herself, she builds up daily "Support on a small scale that cannot be systematized". In September 2022, she served as the first female president of the 73rd General Assembly of the Japan Christian Medical Association, which was held under the theme of "Foreigners in Japan and Medical Care ~ To Leave No One Behind ~."
横関 祐見子 YOKOZEKI, Yumiko（24 ID80）
JICA広域企画調査員（サヘル地域平和構築・在セネガル）。ICUで教育学と心理学を専攻後、ハーバード大学教育学修士、ロンドン大学教育研究所にてPh.D.（博士）を取得。ジンバブエのNGO団体やユニセフ事務所で教育・幼児教育に携わり、JICAに転じたのちは、国際協力専門員として、アフリカ地域を中心に教育開発に従事。その後ユニセフに復職し、東南部と中西部アフリカ地域事務所をカバー、2015年4月よりユネスコに移りアフリカ地域能力開発国際研究所所長。2022年11月から現職。2020年には、長年にわたるアフリカ教育界への貢献と、日本とアフリカの架け橋としての功績により、外務大臣表彰を受賞した。
Dr. Yumiko Yokozeki : JICA’s Senior Adviser for peacebuilding in the Sahel Region in Senegal. After majoring in education and psychology at ICU, she earned a master's degree in education from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the UCL Institute of Education. As a career start, she worked on education and early childhood education at an NGO and UNICEF office in Zimbabwe. After switching to JICA, she engaged in educational development mainly in the African region as an international cooperation specialist. After that, she returned to UNICEF, overseeing the South East and Central and West Africa Regional Offices. In 2015, She was appointed as Director of the UNESCO IICBA (International Institute for Capacity Building in African). In 2020, she received the Foreign Minister's Commendation for her many years of contribution to the African educational community and her achievements as a bridge between Japan and Africa.
林 理恵 HAYASHI, Rie （29 ID85）
日本放送協会（NHK）専務理事・メディア総局長。ICUではコミュニケーションを学び、1986年NHK入局。仙台放送局や報道局政治部などで記者として従事した後、国際協力の仕事を担う。神戸放送局長や国際放送局長などを歴任。2020年からは理事として、人事制度改革やD&Iを推進した。2022年にメディア総局長に就任。NHKの報道、番組制作、デジタル発信、イベント等メディア全般を統括する役員に女性が就くのは初めてであり、幅広い経験から、NHKの放送・サービスの現場に多様性をもたらす変革の担い手として活躍している。幼いころはパリに住み、高校から大学にかけて米国留学した経験から、現在も国際交流に関心が高い。舞台鑑賞が趣味で特に人形浄瑠璃文楽には造詣が深い。
Ms. Rie Hayashi : Executive Board member and Executive Director of Media of Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK, known in English as Japan Broadcasting Corporation). During her time at ICU, she studied communication and joined NHK in 1986 after graduating from ICU. She worked as a reporter in Sendai Broadcasting Station and Political News Division before taking on a career in international relations. She later served as Head of Kobe Broadcasting Station then Head of NHK WORLD. Since 2020 she has been a board member of NHK and led the effort to reform the human resource management as well as to promote D&I. In 2022, she was appointed Executive Director of Media, responsible for NHK’s all media operations, including news and program production, digital services, and events. Being the first woman to hold this position in NHK’s history, she has been a leader in promoting diversity and a driving force in the transformation of NHK.
Having lived in Paris as a child and studying in the U.S. in high school and college, she remains highly interested in international exchange. She enjoys watching stage performances and is highly knowledgeable about Ningyo Joruri Bunraku, Japanese traditional puppet theater.
折居 徳正 ORII, Norimasa （35 ID91）
パスウェイズ・ジャパン代表理事。ICU では人文科学科にて宗教や哲学を中心に学び 1991 年卒業。
企業勤務を経て 2002 年より NGO 職員としてアフガニスタンに駐在する他、イラン、パレスチナ、シリア、ミャンマー等での人道支援に従事。2016 年より難民支援協会にて難民受け入れ事業マネージャーを務め、シリアの若者を、ICU を始め日本各地の大学・日本語学校に留学生として受け入れ。2021 年難民支援協会より同事業の移管を受けてパスウェイズ・ジャパンの設立に携わり、2022 年には JICUF と『日本・ウクライナ教育パスウェイズ』の名のもとに、ウクライナ学生を日本の大学・日本語学校に受け入れる活動を中心として行う。
Mr. Norimasa Orii : Representative director of Pathways Japan. Graduated from ICU in 1991, majoring in religion and philosophy in the humanities divison. After working for a company, he has been stationed in Afghanistan as an NGO employee since 2002 and has also worked in humanitarian assistance in Iran, Palestine, Syria, Myanmar, etc. Since 2016, he has been a Project Manager for Refugee Admission at Japan Association for Refugees, he has supported the admission of Syrian youths as international students at ICU and other universities and language schools in Japan. In 2021, he was involved in the establishment of Pathways Japan after receiving the transfer of the project from Japan Association for Refugees. In 2022, together with JICUF, under the name of “Japan-Ukraine Education Pathways” he mainly carries out activities to admit Ukrainian students to Japanese universities and language schools.
